A 7-week-old girl is safe following an Amber Alert Thursday night.
The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office said the baby's parents took her while trying to avoid Child Protective Services.
Investigators said Jody Allan Caudle, 42, and Taylor Ann Crawford, 24, abducted the baby from a temporary placement. Deputies said the parents had previously tested positive for meth, heroin and fentanyl. They said the child’s mom was breastfeeding the baby. Investigators learned the couple was with the baby at a motel in Danville, Virginia. Before officers arrived, they left. Hours later, deputies found the parents and the child, unharmed.
The baby is with Child Protective Services.
