Lexington, SC (WLTX) - A gas line leak lead to significant traffic headaches along a busy stretch of Highway 378 in Lexington Tuesday afternoon.
The leak happened in the the 5400 block where 378/Sunset Boulevard meets Old Cherokee Road. The leak was secured by a little after 5 p.m, but it took several more hours to repair, slowing traffic in the area.
When the incident happened, about 10 businesses had to be evacuated. While there were problems for drivers and businesses, it was safe for people go to their homes.
Buses in Lexington County School District One were also being re-routed, and Highway 378 near Golden Hills wasn't accessible for pick-up at Lexington Middle School, according to a tweet by the school district.
