COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Police are investigating after they said a body was found Monday morning on the southeast side of town.
Columbia Police, along with the Richland County Coroner, were called to the scene near Leesburg Road and Garners Ferry Road for a person who had died. That area is near where Interstate 77 crosses over Garners Ferry Road.
Columbia Police said there were no signs of foul play but did not elaborate, including how long they think the person may have been there.
The Richland County Coroner's Office will determine the cause of death. They also did not immediately have any word on the identity of the person found dead.
