COLUMBIA, S.C. — Firefighters worked most of Sunday afternoon to contain a house fire in northeast Columbia.
The home is located on Ames Road, off of Farrow Road in northeast Columbia.
No one was inside the home when crews arrived shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. As of 2:18 p.m., crews were still working to put out the fire.
Officials with the Columbia Fire Department say the home's unique building construction is making it difficult to put out hot spots. The carport & rear of the home were badly damaged.
No injuries are reported.
The Columbia fire marshal’s office will be investigating the fire.
