Lexington County Fire Sends 2 to Hospital, Causes $300,000 in Damage

The fire broke out at a business that sells used cars and car parts.

Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - A large fire in Lexington County sent two people to the hospital and caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to a business Saturday.

The fire happened at Buck's Frame and Alignment, a used car and parts store in the 400 block of Truex Road. That's in an area a few miles south of Interstate 20 near Highway 178.

Lexington County officials say two people--a firefighter and someone who didn't work for the department--were overcome by heat exhaustion and had to be taken to the hospital. Both are expected to be okay.

Photos taken at the scene showed multiple burned out cars and some structures on the property. The cost of the damage is estimated at $300,000.

An investigation into the fire is underway.
