Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A mother and son have been arrested after Richland deputies, accused of human trafficking.
Officers arrested 38-year-old Yevett Michelle Pratt and 18-year-old Carban Kiaeem Epps.
Deputies say between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31, 2017, Pratt enticed and solicited a 16-year-old into prostitution. Pratt provided a location for the victim to perform sex acts for money at Eve’s Haven & Spa on Broad River Road.
Officers say Yevett Pratt owned the spa.
Pratt's son, 18-year-old Carban Kiaeem Epps, allegedly recruited the teen, according to deputies, and introduced her to his mother, while also providing the teen's transportation to the massage parlor.
The incident occurred between September 1 and October 31, 2017, according to a report.
Pratt and Epps are both charged with trafficking/trafficking in person, victim under 18 years old. Pratt was transported to the Richland County Detention Center. Epps is being held a the Newberry County Jail on unrelated charges, but will be transported to the Richland County Detention Center.
