Rain returns Friday, heavy at times

The showers return to the area Friday. Rain will linger into Saturday.

A low pressure system will approach the area Friday. Heavy rain will be possible across the Midlands.

Thursday was mostly cloudy and dry. High temperatures were in the middle and upper 50s. The dry weather will not last, rain is on the way for the last day of the workweek.

Showers will be likely Friday. An isolated thunderstorm is possible too. Rain will be heavy at times and this could produce localized flooding.

There are no flash flood watches in effect for area, but towards the Pee Dee and the Grand Strand flash flood watches have been issued.

Forecast models suggest most of the Midlands will be receive 2-3 inches of rain through Saturday. Some areas may get a little more, especially in the eastern half of the Midlands.

The rain will continue Saturday. Scattered showers will be possible through late Saturday night.

High temperatures Friday will be in the middle to upper 50s. Saturday temperatures may warm into the middle 60s.
