CAMDEN, S.C. (AP, WLTX) — All lanes are now open on an I-20 bridge over Wateree River after emergency repairs were completed ahead of schedule Tuesday.
A hole in the bridge deck prompted the closure of the eastbound right lane near Camden early Monday, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
Officials say the pothole, which was caused by aging infrastructure, was reconstructed with concrete.
The agency tweeted photos of small holes with steel rebar running through them on the bridge. About 40,000 vehicles travel over the two I-20 bridges over the river.
