Two counties respond to house fire in Kershaw County; Two displaced

The fire's cause is still under investigation.

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — Departments from two counties fought to control a Kershaw County fire on Friday after being called to a home around 2 p.m.

According to the Kershaw County Fire Service, the fire was reported in the 3000 block of Stoneboro Road in the Heath Springs area. Soon, fire crews from Lancaster County responded to provide mutual aid. The first crews to arrive found the house already burning heavily. Kershaw County Fire Service officials said the fire displaced two people. The department said the residents didn't request help from the American Red Cross.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
