NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Authorities report no injuries after an airplane had to make an emergency landing on the South Carolina coast on Saturday.
According to North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue, crews were called to the Grand Strand Airport around 2 p.m., where the aircraft had planned to land, due to a possible fire onboard.
The pilot safely landed, with no injuries reported, but crews extinguished a fire in the engine compartment. Myrtle Beach Airport Fire crews and the Federal Aviation Administration have been notified.
