Gamecocks drop series opener with Texas A&M

A seven-run seventh inning, highlighted by a Logan Foster grand slam home run lifted seventh-ranked Texas A&M to an 8-2 win over the Gamecocks in Thursday night action at Founders Park.

USC used a a pair of RBI singles by George Calil and TJ Hopkins put the Gamecocks on top 2-1 in the bottom of the third inning. 

The Aggies (28-11-1, 10-5-1) took the lead in the seventh with an RBI double and RBI single. Another RBI single gave Texas A&M a 4-2 lead before Foster's big blast which capped off the seven-run seventh.

Reid Morgan (3-3) took the loss after going 6.1 innings, giving up eight hits and three earned runs while striking out seven.
