COLUMBIA, S.C. — In high school basketball news a basketball player from the Midlands will be helping the next generation as a coach.
Hartsville product and former Gamecock guard Jaylen Shaw has joined the South Florence coaching staff. Christian Savage is the head coach and Jaylen will be an assistant.
Jaylen came to USC out of Hartsville and after one season he transferred to Coastal Carolina. In his junior year he was a second team All-Sun Belt pick and as a senior in the 2017-2018 season he led The Chanticleers in scoring (14.8 ppg) and assists (5.4 apg).
