COLUMBIA, S.C. — Richland County deputies have arrested a 20-year-old woman who they say strangled her grandmother.
Deputies say around 4 p.m. on January 19, they were called to a residence in the 1100 block of Dunnagon Street for a domestic incident call. When they got there, they spoke to 20-year-old Aneia Anderson, who told deputies she had gotten in a fight with her 79-year-old grandmother.
Deputies say they found the grandmother lying unresponsive on the floor. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Investigators say they determined that she strangled the victim. Anderson has since been charged with murder and was taken to the Richland County Detention Center.
