COLUMBIA, S.C. — Fans of music and comedy will find an action-packed schedule this weekend.
Legendary comedian Martin Lawrence takes the stage at Colonial Life Arena on Saturday, headlining a show that features Deon Cole and Benji Brown. If music is more your thing, then in addition to the Meeting Street Music Festival on Friday and Saturday, there are individual concerts by artists such as Cody Webb at Harbison Theatre and Koe Wetzel at Colonial Life.
Sports fans can enjoy an afternoon watching the Fireflies wind up their regular season at Segra Park against the Charleston Riverdogs, or take in the Gamecocks on Saturday against Kentucky at Williams-Brice.
And for something completely different, if you love garage sales, unpack that car or SUV, grab some cash and head out to the Big Grab 50-Mile Yard Sale running through Blythewood, Ridgeway and Winnsboro this Friday and Saturday!

Fireflies home stand against Charleston Riverdogs, Segra Park, 1640 Freed St. Each night features a different promotion:
- Wednesday, 7:05 p.m., Trash the Poop Night, bring the pups for a doggy play date; hang out for the food fight
- Thursday, 7:05 p.m., USC Night, first 1,000 fans get a rally towel
- Friday, 7:05 p.m., Freebie Friday/Grateful Dead Night with post-game fireworks
- Saturday, 6:05 p.m., dress as your favorite Hogwarts character during Harry Potter Night or come in uniform as it is also Boy Scout Night. Either way, stick around for post-game fireworks

Make room in your vehicle and wind your way along the roads connecting Blythewood, Ridgeway and Winnsboro to find bargains galore during this two-day event. Most yard sales will be along Hwy. 21 from Blythewood to Ridgeway, Hwy. 34 between Ridgeway and Winnsboro, and along Hwy 321 to Blythewood Road. Pro-tip: while some folks do cashless transactions, it’s probably a good idea to have some cash on hand, especially smaller denomination bills.

Springdale 5K, 8 a.m.-noon, 200 Knights Hill Rd., Camden. Join in the 5K walk/run on the grounds of the Historic Springdale Race Course. Proceeds benefit Mobile Nutrition Center, a mobirl food pantry delivering healthy foods to rural Kershaw County. Free event t-shirt, free waffles at the finish line for registered runners. Sistercare Saturday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Intersection of Main Street and Hampton Street. The City of Columbia’s Public Relations, Media and Marketing Department is hosting the last of three fundraising events for Sistercare, which helps victims and families recover from domestic violence. Join us in downtown Columbia during the Soda City market to raise funds and bring awareness to this violence. We will have a dunking booth and raffle drawings featuring local Columbia businesses. There will also be information booths from Sistercare, our local public safety partners and the City of Columbia. Tickets for the dunk booth are $5 for three throws, $10 for seven throws and $30 for an instant dunk. Tickets for the raffle prices are $5 for one ticket, $10 for three tickets and $20 for seven tickets.
