Fashion Week Columbia and the SC Caribbean Festival have multiple events happening through Sunday

COLUMBIA, S.C. — There are two multi-event festivals going on in Columbia this week where you’ll find great food, colorful folks, and funky fashion: South Carolina Caribbean Festival (SCCF) and Fashion Week Columbia (FWC).

Immerse yourself in one – or both – of these celebrations of life and culture.

THURSDAY, June 6

SCCF kicks off with an International Party, 7 p.m.-midnight, The Big Apple, 1000 Hampton St. Sample delicious Caribbean cuisine and learn about island culture. Tickets $25 per person

CFW Expansive Runway, 7 p.m. Lincoln Street Tunnel. See the latest local take on streetwear fashion, tickets $30.

First Thursday, Main Street, all day

FRIDAY, June 7

SCCF J’Ouvert (Paint Party), Cooler Fete Edition, 9 p.m.-2 a.m., SC State Fairgrounds, 1200 Rosewood Dr. Coolers are allowed, no glass, no ice, no chasers. Enjoy a colorful evening of vibrant color and dancing. Tickets $80 per person includes t-shirt, bottle, powder and paint. Parking $20

CFW The Icons Party & Runway: Cowboy Couture, 7 p.m., Ambrosia, 1734 Main St. You know the theme… come dressed in your interpretation of Western wear. Tickets $40 + cash bar.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY, June 7 & 8

Weekend with the Pros, Captain’s Choice Marine, 3216 Columbia Hwy, Leesville. Sign up for half-day and full-day wakeboard lessons with the pros. On Saturday, 2-3 p.m., watch pro wakeboarders Bec Gange, Parker Swope and Joey Harris throw amazing tricks. Sponsored by SC Rough Riders. Tickets $58-$420

SATURDAY, June 8

SCCF Block Party, noon-8 p.m., 2000 block of Marion Street, between Calhoun and Elmwood). Family-friendly event with Caribbean food and entertainment. Kerwin Du Bois performs. Tickets $25 per person

SCCF After Party, 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Main Street, White Energy – White + your favorite color. Tickets $50 per person

CFW The Finale Experience, 6:30 p.m., Cantey Building, SC State Fairgrounds, 1200 Rosewood Dr. See amazing fashion collections from local and national talent, enjoy the Top Model Competition and stick around for the afterparty. Tickets $65-$85

80th Anniversary D-Day Salute, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., SC State Museum, 301 Gervais St., A special event honoring the momentous victory of D-Day 80 years ago, with live performances, new exhibit and more.

Scooby Doo night as Columbia Fireflies take on Fayetteville Woodpeckers, 6:05 p.m., Segra Park. Celebrate the Mystery Machine Gang and stay for the post-game fireworks. Tickets $6-$16

SATURDAY & SUNDAY, June 8 & 9

Ag + Art Tour: Richland County, various locations. Grab an empty cooler and pack your friends and family in the back seat for this self-guided tour of Richland County farms. Best way to see where your food comes from while supporting farmers and local artisans with your purchases. There are 20 stops in Richland County, some open Saturday, others on Sunday. Check the participating farms and suggested routes online.

SUNDAY, June 9

SCCF Punch’d, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Robert Mills House and Gardens, 1616 Blanding St. Caribbean music, delicious food and much more. Bring your friends and family for a day of laughter and memories. Tickets $55

Southeastern Piano Festival opening celebration concert, 4 p.m. USC School of Music Recital Hall. This week-long series of lectures, performances and competition begins Sunday and runs through June 15.
