Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The Joy of Giving phone bank fundraiser to help the Salvation Army was a big success, and we want to thank all of you who donated!
The two day event raised a total of $177,333!
That money will go to struggling families and senior citizens in central South Carolina to help them receive the crisis assistance they need from The Salvation Army.
The Joy of Giving supports Salvation Army programs in the Midlands, Sumter, and Orangeburg and provide critical funding for The Salvation Army's programs and services across 11 counties in central South Carolina by providing needed assistance that helps families stabilize their lives and break the cycle of poverty. The funds raised will also help struggling families and senior citizens receive the emergency assistance they need to stay in their homes, feed their families, keep the heat on, and help children reach their full potential.
This year, the need is so much greater due to the October floods that had a devastation effect on so many people in the area.
If you weren't able to donate Wednesday or Thursday, you can always donate to any of the local Salvation Army locations.
