COLUMBIA, S.C. — A water main break near Greystone Boulevard in Columbia has closed down Riverbanks Zoo and Garden on Wednesday, April 17.
Because of the chance of bacterial contamination, Columbia Water has issued a boil water advisory for homes and businesses in the Greystone Boulevard, Stoneridge Drive and Candi Lane areas, asking customers to vigorously boil water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking with the water. Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
Columbia Water experienced a 10-inch water main break along Greystone Boulevard this morning and repair crews are on the scene. Repairs are expected to be completed Wednesday afternoon.
