Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Grammy Award singer Roberta Flack will perform at a black tie optional event hosted by Benedict College on April 17. Flack will sing at a dinner honoring the school's president, Dr. David Swinton, for his 20 years of service at the school.
An Enchanted Evening with Roberta Flack will be held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center and will include dinner and a performance by Flack. Tickets will cost $95 for general admission and $30 for college students.
Flack is perhaps best known for her 1973 song "Killing Me Softly with His Song" which achieved gold certification. Flack was the first artist to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in back to back years with her albums The First Time I Saw Your Face (1973) and Killing Me Softly With His Song (1974).
