COLUMBIA, S.C. — Boating Magazine has named Lake Murray one of the top 10 places to live and Boat.
The magazine also ranked Lake Murray in the top 10 earlier this decade, in 2011.
According to the magazine, they consider livability, public access, convenience, and relaxing getaways.
Miriam Atria, President/CEO, Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Office, is excited to be in the top 10 again, noting that it is great publicity for the area.
“Our tourism office has been marketing Lake Murray as a vacation destination for years and this recognition validates our marketing message, Lake Murray is the Jewel of South Carolina. Lake Murray Country is a vacation destination and a fantastic recreational asset providing both residents and visitors the perfect spot to live and boat,” Atria said.
Destin, Florida, Seattle, Washington, and Phoenix, Arizona also made the list.
