Columbia, S.C. – August 12, 2018 – WLTX was honored with 6 South Carolina Broadcasters Association State Television and Radio (STAR) awards at the Columbia Conference Center on Saturday, August 11, 2018, including the coveted South Carolina Television Station of the Year.

WLTX awards in other categories included Public Service Announcements, “We are Puerto Rico” won by Mary Soto, Darci Strickland and Leroy Green, and “We Love to Read” awarded to Lanier Smith.
The station was recognized for its multi-spot promotional campaign for “Man Behind the Meteorologist,” awarded to Courtney McCallum, Mary Soto and Lanier Smith.
Chris Delcamp was recognized for his News Feature “Photo Restorations,” and Anne McQuary and Mary Soto received first place for their News series “Another Way to Say Goodbye.”
The South Carolina Television Station of the Year recognition was awarded for the innovative approach WLTX has taken to local news coverage.
