HOUSTON — A man was found shot to death in a west Harris County neighborhood Saturday afternoon, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
It happened in a neighborhood near Mayde Creek Park.
Sheriff Gonzalez said deputies responded to a call for service and found a man in his early 20s dead from gunshot wounds just a street over from where he lived.
Deputies said the man was shot while making some kind of transaction to either buy or sell something. The arrangement was made online, possibly through Facebook Marketplace or another social media site.
Shots were fired and then the suspect car drove away.
Meanwhile, the man tried to run home with gunshot wounds and was later found dead on a sidewalk near his home, according to deputies.
Investigators said they have video of the incident. The shooter hasn't been identified, but they believe they know the license plate of the car.
Family told KHOU 11 News the victim was 20-year-old Jyron Johnson. They said he was 20 years old and left behind two kids, with one on the way.
