MANNING, S.C. — The reason that Manning High School is on an e-learning day on Thursday is batty.
It seems some bats migrated into the gym at Manning High School, the roof in particular, and well, they just can't stay.
"We need them gone, " said Dr. Keisa Carr, the director of communication and community relations for Clarendon County schools, "We've worked with DHEC to make sure we are doing everything right."
Bats can carry rabies and histoplasmosis, which is a lung infection.
Carr expects that the school will be on e-learning for just one day, but you never know, she adds.
She said they would alert parents via text, email, and Facebook to let parents and students know about Friday and how the bat removal went.
