Injured bald eagle rescued by troopers in Pennsylvania

Two Pennsylvania State troopers were able to rescue an injured bald eagle from Route 322 in Greenwood Township, Perry County.

PERRY COUNTY, Pa. — Two Pennsylvania State Troopers rescued an injured bald eagle on Sunday morning.

According to PSP, on Feb. 11 at 11 a.m., troopers Alex Ebbert and Emilio Rizzo rescued the bald eagle that was struck by a vehicle along Route 322 in Greenwood Township, Perry County. 

The eagle was reportedly struck while feeding and was suffering from a wing injury. 

Trooper Ebbert used his cruiser jacket to wrap the bird for secure transport. 

The troopers met with Pennsylvania Game Commission personnel at PSP Newport, who took the eagle for further rehabilitation.
