"Chuckie" Voice Actress Christine Cavanaugh Dies At 51

Christine Cavanaugh, known as the voice of Chuckie from Rugrats, Babe the pig, has died at 51.

An obituary in the Los Angeles Times says Cavanaugh passed away on Dec. 22. She was 51.

According to Wikipedia, the voice actress had suffered from CML - chronic myelogenous leukemia.

Cavanaugh's career was launched with the voice of Goslyn Duck from Dark Wing Duck. She went on to do the voice of Chuckie from 1991-2003, Babe in 1995 and Dexter on Dexter's Laboratory from 1996 - 2003.

"Her imagination, humor and intelligence were evident to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her," the obit say. "The childlike awe of the world, humor to deal with the unpleasantness of reality, strength to deal with the challenges we all face, and intelligence to know when to act or accept what fate had allowed. Christine lived her life the way she wanted."

Cavanaugh retired from voice acting in 2001. Her character in Rugrats was replaced by Nancy Cartwright, who voices Bart Simpson.

Cavanaugh, who was divorced, had no children. A memorial ceremony was held at Antelope Island, off the Great Salt Lake in Utah, a place she loved to visit.
