Columbia, SC (WLTX) - — The BrickUniverse Lego Fan Expo transformed the City of Columbia into LEGO World Saturday afternoon.
Hundreds packed the Columbia Convention Center to check out LEGO sculptures from some of the nation's best LEGO builders.
Aidan Wetherton, a 10-year-old LEGO Builder, says the event helped him fall back in love with LEGOs.
"I was about to get off of LEGOs and then I came here and was like no that's not going to happen," Wetherton said. "I like the creation of it, like the imagination you can put into them like I’ve made a lot of things out of LEGOs that are very cool to me."
Columbia residents also had a chance to check out some of the best work from several LEGO builders in the Palmetto State, including local builders Andrew Heape and David Robinson.
"It’s been incredible I never thought that I would come to a LEGO convention," Robinson said. "I never thought I would get 10000 retweets on Twitter and 7000 likes on Twitter it’s just been incredible.”
If you missed out on seeing the Expo Saturday, you still have a chance to catch it Sunday afternoon from 2:00PM-5:00PM.
