WINCHESTER, Ind. — An Indiana high school student took home the title of homecoming queen this week — but that's not all. She also set a new football record at her school!

Winchester High School senior Aubrey Weigand is the placekicker for the varsity football team. She has done this for all four years of high school.

The Winchester Falcons defeated the Union County Patriots 77-8 Friday night, with Weigand breaking the school record by tallying 11 extra points. The prior high school record was 10 PATs, which she tied as a freshman.

As if that wasn't enough, the cherry on top was being crowned homecoming queen by her peers at halftime.

Weigand's aunt, Jessica Austerman, said she "couldn't be more proud" of Aubrey and her team.

"She is one of the hardest working young women I know," Austerman said. "Being crowned the homecoming queen and breaking the school PAT record in one night was pretty amazing to see."

"Aubrey is a phenomenal young lady who is a great role model for all of the other students at the middle and high school," Winchester High School Principal Karla Reed said. "She is kind and hardworking. She humbly represents our school as a fantastic member of our student body and I am thrilled that she broke the record and was selected as the homecoming queen."

“It’s pretty great to see deserving students receive accolades," Winchester High School Assistant Principal Amber Hines said. "Aubrey is a high achieving academic student that is full of integrity and works to make great choices every day. To see Aubrey achieve an athletic goal as well as be voted on by her peers as homecoming queen shows how deep her impact has been on our school. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Aubrey!”

Winchester is approximately 85 miles northeast of Indianapolis, in Randolph County.
