TEMPLE, Texas — On this Thanksgiving, a Central Texas mom is grateful that her daughter received the ultimate gift of life.
Three-year-old SaMiyah has triumphed over the toughest battle.
After enduring countless chemo treatments. She has finally reached a milestone.
In front of family, and a team of doctors at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center in Temple, she got to ring the bell, signaling the end of her fight against cancer.
Her mother, LaTosha Fowler’s heart filled with joy!
“I feel like my baby is now healed. She can finally be a normal kid and do all the things I felt she couldn’t do before,” said Fowler.
We first introduced you to SaMiyah back in August. At the age of one she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Fowler was on a desperate quest to find a bone marrow match for SaMiyah. Fast forward to today, and right before the thanksgiving holiday her daughter is no longer burdened by the grueling chemo treatments.
"There's no limitations now. There’s no stopping us. We can go out here and have the best time. I’m so excited," said Fowler.
To celebrate this remarkable milestone, doctors surprised SaMiyah with a beautiful Princess Tiana doll. She couldn't help but embrace her new companion, feeling an immense sense of triumph and gratitude for the bright future ahead of her.
