ROSWELL, Ga. — A Roswell WWII veteran will soon celebrate her 100th birthday!

Verna ‘Bunny’ Farmer will celebrate her centennial birthday with her senior living community in Roswell on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Farmer served in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) during World War II. Her military work included critical aviation operations-- including transporting equipment within the U.S.

"Her service earned her several accolades, including the Good Conduct Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon, and the WWII Victory Medal," a release from her senior living community stated.

Farmer's last assignment was with the 400th Army Air Force Base Unit in Hamilton Field, California.

Executive Director of Magnolia Place of Roswell Kevin Holyfield said Farmer's story has been widely recognized and featured in military publications, including "She Served" magazine.

Farmer remains involved in connecting with veterans and organizations such as the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Holyfield added that the DAR has honored Farmer with visits, flowers, and personalized gifts, including a blanket recognizing her service.

"Bunny's life represents dedication, resilience, and the spirit of service," Holyfield said. "It is a privilege to celebrate her 100th birthday and honor her remarkable contributions to history, the military, and our community."
