WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — Christmas is in the air in Cayce, and people, young and old, lined the streets Saturday afternoon with their lawn chairs, Christmas blankets, and Santa hats to get a good seat for the parade down 12th Street.

Before that, people got to hang around and enjoy live music, local business vendors, and activities like corn hole and face painting.

Tim James, the president of the Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber, said this event draws in dozens of families every year.

"Everything from the logistics of law enforcement, fire service, being able to put out trash cans, bleachers and making sure they're all in place is days and days of preparation to come together like it is tonight, also, Serve and Connect, which is a local law enforcement supporting program, tonight they have chosen to be able to feed all the first responders that are working," James said.

People got to take pictures with Old Saint Nick, too. The Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber tells News 19 they had over 200 floats in tonight's parade.

"I've got Christmas tree earrings," attendee Annsley Huff said.
