'Twas Christmas night at Waffle House

The waffles were hung on the tree with care, in hopes that syrup would soon be there

‘Twas the night of Christmas and all through Waffle House breakfast was cooking no matter the time.

The waffles were hung on the tree with care.

And a reporter was asking why people were there.

“Well my family eats breakfast together every Christmas, my children. So, in the afternoons everybody has free time. So, in my free time I came to Waffle House to get a cheese steak sandwich!” Kathy Waldrep.

“It's so good, so good. I hadn't been here in a long time and it just sounded like the perfect place,” said Pat Garrett.

The customers were nestled all snug in their seats, while visions of gift giving were Kathy Waldrep's treat.

“Everybody seemed happy,” Waldrep said while talking about her grandkids’ reactions.

While ordering waffles and a dinner plate too, we asked Pat Garrett why she settled here too.

“Well we just wanted to get out of the house, family is in other places, so Waffle House sounded good,” Garrett said with a smile.

The two moms were reflecting on giving their gifts.

It was a Christmas season spent giving the kids a lift.

“I sent presents to my son who lives in Boston,” Garrett explained.

“I enjoyed giving all the gifts this year, it wasn't any one special,” Waldrep said about her Christmas with the family.

The waiters arrived bringing their food, so away we flew giving them space while they chewed.

But we heard them exclaim as we walked out of sight, merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
