If the Christmas ham or turkey goes up in flames or you just don't feel like cooking, there are places in Columbia staying open for your holiday feast.
Some chain restaurant locations will be open on Christmas.
McDonald's, Burger King, Applebee’s, Shoney’s, Golden Corral, IHOP, Waffle House and others will be open on Christmas, depending on location.
The McDonald’s and Shoney’s on Garner’s Ferry say they will be open Christmas Day.
Locally owned No. 1 Chinese Restaurant on Garner's Ferry will be open as well.
Manager Joe Cheung said Christmas Eve business was going well.
“It's been pretty steady out, most people come-- we got some people that order big orders at the beginning and some families just come and eat before Christmas Eve starts for their Christmas tradition,” Cheung said.
They've stayed open on Christmas for 15 years, but don't be sad. They celebrate at work.
“I get to spend it with my family. Actually, this my family business, so I get to work with my family. We do celebrate, in the back, we get a little of our own food. And start, while we take care of customers, we get to celebrate ourselves too,” Cheung said.
This year they'll be open again, No. 1’s hours go from noon to 9 p-m on Christmas.
