AUSTIN, Texas — Wildly popular gas station and store Buc-ee's is making headlines for its starting wages.
Business Insider recently ranked the top paying entry-level retail jobs across the country, and Buc-ee's came in at No. 5.
Employees get a minimum starting wage of $18.18 cents an hour. Compare that to the minimum wage in Texas, which is the same as the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.
The rankings were made in collaboration with Glassdoor.
The company also offers paid time off and 401K matching, according to the report.
The travel stop is known for its size, clean bathrooms, fresh barbecue and unique snacks.
For the second year in a row, top on the list is Patagonia. The apparel brand has a starting wage of $21.88, according to Business Insider. Meanwhile, outdoor brand REI came in at No. 2 with a starting wage of $18.88.
Costco claimed the No. 3 spot with an $18.57 starting wage, and furniture store IKEA came in at No. 4 with a starting wage of $18.50.
Popular grocery store Trader Joe’s also made the list at No. 9, with a starting wage of $17.69.
