Kershaw County school district hiring bus drivers, cafeteria workers

Kershaw County School District hopes to fill positions before the start of school year, Sept. 8

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — Kershaw County school district (KCSD) has announced that it is hiring bus drivers, bus assistants and substitute food service employees for the new school year.

Interested persons are asked to complete an application here and contact Luci Brevard at (803) 432-8416 to pick up and complete the additional paperwork to process the application.

Potential bus drivers should be able to pass a drug test, background check, DOT physical exam and a physical performance test. Candidates must also have a high school diploma or GED and a negative TB test. 

In addition, applicants must have had a driver’s license for at least a year and have less than four points against it. Pay is based on experience and includes benefits.

Food Service (cafeteria) substitutes are paid $10 per hour and have the potential to become permanent part-time employees.

All potential employees must have a current TB test and pass a SLED background check.

Keep in mind that there is a 5-10 day turnaround in the application process.

The first day of school for KCSD students is Tuesday, Sept. 8.
