COLUMBIA, S.C. — A longtime business located in northeast Richland County will be expanding, creating 33 new jobs, thanks to a $5.5 million investment.

US Brick, founded in 1939 in Columbia as Carolina Ceramics, will be doubling the production of residential and commercial brick with the addition of a second kiln and manufacturing line at its location at 9931 Two Notch Road, at the intersection of N Brickyard Road, in Columbia.

Carolina Ceramics was purchased and became US Brick in 2020. The Charleston-based company will use the money to modernize the Two Notch Road facility, phasing in operations through the end of 2025.

With locations in South Carolina, Alabama, Indiana and Tennessee, US Brick has the capacity to manufacture 350 million brick per year. This latest investment will continue the company's legacy of “Born Here. Built Here.”

Individuals interested in joining the US Brick team should visit the company’s careers page.
