City of Columbia seeks public servants for openings on boards and commissions

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The City of Columbia is looking for citizens to fill open positions on numerous boards and commissions. 

Interested residents serve mostly in advisory roles to various city departments but some also hear appeals, provide expertise, advocate and advise City Council.

From zoning issues and climate protection to housing and food policy, there may be a seat at the table for you.

  • Board of Zoning Appeals (BOZA) - One (1) vacancy
  • Citizens Advisory Committee to CPD- Ten (10 Vacancies)
  • Climate Protection Action Committee (CPAC)- Seven (7) vacancies (non-voting)
  • Columbia Prepares Advisory Committee- Seven (7) vacancies
  • Columbia Tree and Appearance Commission (CTAC) - Three (3) current vacancies; Two (2) vacancies upcoming in July 2021
  • Design Development Review Commission (DDRC)- Two Vacancies (2) for: one Architect with Historic Preservation experience & one Architectural Historian
  • Food Policy Committee - Eleven (11) vacancies
  • Housing Authority of the City of Columbia- One (1) vacancy for a Resident Commissioner
  • Housing Authority of the City of Columbia- One (1) vacancy for a Commissioner
  • Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports, and Tourism (MACST) - One (1) vacancy
