Forest Acres is creating a new park. What would you like to see in it?

A six-acre plot behind Richland Mall is going to be developed as a public park, the city of Forest Acres wants your input

FOREST ACRES, S.C. — The redevelopment of Richland Mall, at the intersection of Forest Drive and Beltline Boulevard, has already been announced by the City of Forest Acres. With the last tenants of the shopping mall having either closed or relocated, developers are in the process of starting demolition.

Now, the city is asking the public what they might like to see on a six acre plot of land behind the mall. Purchased as part of the overall redevelopment deal, once completed, the Richland Mall Park will be the largest park and gathering space in Forest Acres.

If you would like voice your opinion as to what you would like to see at the park, plan on attending the drop-in meeting at Kathwood Baptist Church, 4900 Trenholm Rd, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 19.

If you can't make the meeting, City of Forest Acres has an online survey where you can put in your thoughts.
