Golf cart recalled after brake failure

Yamaha recalls about 5,000 golf cars after discovering crash risk.

KENNESAW, Ga. — Yamaha recalled about 5,000 under par golf carts with faulty brakes.

 U.S. safety regulators say the car poses a crash risk the could injure users or bystanders. No injuries have been reported.

The Consumer Product and Safety Commission discovered the failure in some 2021 and 2022 Yamaha Drive 2 - PTVs. The vehicles were sold at Yamaha cart dealers from April 2020 through August 2021. 

The recall affects the following vehicles:

- 2021 DR2E21 AC-L DRIVE 2 AC Fleet Solid Axle

- DR2A21 EFI-L Drive² EFI Fleet Solid Axle

- DR2E21 PTV R Drive² AC PTV Solid Axle

- 2022 DR2E22 AC-L Drive² AC Fleet, Solid Axle

- DR2A22 EFI-L Drive² EFI Fleet, Solid axle
