9 things you can buy at Costco you probably didn’t know about

One of the most popular warehouse clubs sells a lot more than groceries and household items in bulk.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — You can buy that at Costco? Yes, indeed you can (assuming you have a membership).

It’s not just bulk toilet paper and packaged food items. Costco sells some unusual items and all at a discount.

Here’s a list of the unique buys you can score at Costco, according to the experts at The Penny Hoarder.

  1. Caskets
The warehouse clubs has a funeral department that, in addition to caskets, sells urns and a variety of memorial keepsakes.
  2. Swimming pools
While the warehouse club sells only above-ground options, they’ve got a size range from 1,500 to 2,200 gallons.
  3. Engagement rings
If you’re ready to propose to that special someone, you might want to include Costco in your search for a jeweler. If you’re worried the ring will look like it came from a warehouse club, keep this in mind: Costco was sued by famed jeweler, Tiffany & Co., for selling similar ring styles, according to the Penny Hoarder.
  4. Vacations
Summer may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take a fall or even winter vacation. Shop discounted vacation packages exclusive to the warehouse club.
  5. Cars
Yes, Costco sells gasoline but did you know it also sells vehicles? Find deals on new cars, pre-owned vehicles and even RVs.
  6. Emergency supplies
Sure, you can take the time to buy various items to create your own emergency relief kit, but you don’t have to if you’re a Costco member. The warehouse club sells a pallet of food with 3,816 servings and a 25-year shelf life.
  7. Wedding flowers
The warehouse club sells wedding bouquet collections priced from $290 to $550 dollars, according to the Penny Hoarder.
  8. Garages
The experts at Penny Hoarder say you can find all of the parts to build a one-car garage for a fraction of what they would cost elsewhere.
  9. Insurance
Life, health, auto, home, pet – the warehouse club sells it all.

And don't forget: Costco aims to stop membership card sharing in a new crackdown.
