WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — BrushX recalls 100,000 brushes after regulators discover electrocution risk.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission found that the brush lacked an immersion protection device. This means the device can shock users when wet.
The recall includes the BrushX Styler, the BrushX Dryer & Volumizer, and the BrushX Gen.2.
The product has a "not waterproof" near the bottom of the brush.
The devices were sold for $44 to $55 between April 2020 and August 2021.
Safety regulators ask consumers to immediately destroy the hot air brushes; consumers should unplug the device and then cut the cord. Purchasers should then email a photo of the product to replacement@mybrushx.com for a free replacement.
