COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Richland County Conservation Commission (RCCC) has announced there will be funding available for qualifying historic preservation and natural resource conservation projects beginning December 1, 2023.
Non-profit and neighborhood organizations, government agencies and institutions, and commercial entities may apply for the grants through Feb. 1, 2024.
Up to $50,000 will be available for historic preservation grants to help with restoration costs for historic buildings and cemeteries, or educational and research projects promoting Richland County. All other properties must be approved by the RCCC before a grant application can be considered.
Up to $25,000 will be available for natural resource grants for building trails, water quality improvement projects, green infrastructure and environmental education programs that promote conservation and environmental awareness in Richland County.
All projects will have a requisite 20% match from applicants and must demonstrate a clear public benefit. Deadline for applications is Feb. 1, 2024.
