The tax-free weekend is timed so that parents, students and teachers can stock up on various items for the upcoming school year.

SOUTH CAROLINA, USA — South Carolina will hold its annual tax-free weekend from Aug. 4 through 6. That means many items will be exempt from the state's 6% sales tax and possibly some local taxes.
