Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Bi-Lo Holdings Announced A Total of 4 Stores Closing In South Carolina: Three Reid's Groceries and One Bi-Lo Grocery store.
The Jacksonville, FL based company announced Tuesday the closures are among eight total stores they will be closing after receiving Federal Trade Commission approval to acquire the Delhaize America chain of grocery stores, with the divestiture of a number of stores, due in part to close geographic proximity of another one of the company's existing stores.
R. Randall Onstead, president and CEO of Bi-Lo Holdings said in the report "Given the number of stores we are acquiring, we anticipated that we may be asked by the FTC to divest some stores to close the deal. In addition, with the close proximity of some of the Bi-Lo Holdings and Delhaize stores, we also knew that we would have to close a few stores as part of the acquisition,"
The South Carolina stores slated for closure are:
Reid's Grocery #2612
1450 Chestnut St
Orangeburg, SC 29115
Reid's Grocery #2158
