CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Ceremonies are being held in South Carolina marking the sixth anniversary of a furniture store fire that claimed the lives of nine Charleston firefighters.
Tuesday evening's observance is being held in the small park that has been created where the furniture store once stood. The ceremony will feature the names of the nine fallen men being read as a bell is rung.
Firefighters are also holding a 24-hour vigil at the flagpole in the park.
The firefighters died at the Sofa Super Store on June 18, 2007.
