CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WCNC)-- Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte says they are treating a patient who is exhibiting symptoms that could possibly be linked to Ebola.
CMC says that while the patient has traveled to one of the African countries associated with Ebola, the likelihood this patient has Ebola is "very low".
Howerver, CMC says they are treating the situation with utmost caution to protect patients, visitors and staff.
The individual has been placed in a special unit prepared to treat infectious diseases, and care is being provided by specially trained staff members.
The patient will undergo a test for Ebola.
CMC says the patient, who has multiple medical issues, received treatment at an outpatient facility before being admitted to CMC.
