Columbia Man to serve 15 years in prison in human trafficking case

Columbia, SC (WLTX)- A Columbia man has has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to human trafficking charges. 

According to Attorney General Alan Wilson 23 year-old Kristopher Block pleaded guilty Wednesday to criminal sexual conduct with a minor and human trafficking of a minor.

Block was arrested when authorities found a minor in a Columbia motel in December 2014. Authorities say Blocker admitted to taking photos of the victim and advertising her for sale on the internet. 

Upon his release from prison, Block must register as a sex offender and undergo lifetime electronic monitoring. Wilson said Block's case is the third human trafficking conviction under the state's 2012 revised human trafficking law.

The Attorney General urges South Carolinians who have seen human trafficking or anything suspicious to call local law enforcement and the National Human Trafficking Resource Center at 1-866-347-7888.
