Georgia UPS driver praised for saving unconscious woman on delivery route

A Georgia UPS driver is hailed as a hero for saving an unconscious woman on his delivery route, attributing his timely actions to divine guidance.
A driver in Valdosta went above and beyond when he saw a woman in trouble while on his route.

VALDOSTA, Ga. — An act of kindness did not go unnoticed by a Georgia UPS driver who sprung into action after he noticed a woman passed out in her driveway while on his route.

Raheem Cooper did not hesitate to call 911, check to see if anyone was home, and assist the woman as best as he could after seeing her lying in the driveway.

"It was by the grace of God that I was there to help her," he said.

Cooper left his name and number with the family, thinking that was the end of the road for him, but the community stepped in, taking his good deed to Facebook, according to the report from WALB.

"I’m satisfied with what I do, but I have to give all glory to God because if it wasn’t for Him, I wouldn’t have been there, so I just thank God. What if that was my family member, my kids, or including me with how hot the sun is? I just feel like if you see somebody that needs help, just do the best you can by God’s grace," he added.

Cooper's mother was shopping at a furniture store when she overheard the staff discussing her son's generous gesture.

“She told them it was her son, which is me, so they told me if I just come up there they would just give it to me free. So I’m truly blessed, and I just thank them for blessing me,” he said.

Cooper contacted the woman's family, and she told him she was going through a recovery process but would be okay because of his heroic actions. He continues to thank god for putting him in the right place at the right time.
