A judge has set bond at $100,000 for Tiffany Jeffcoat. She's accused of suffocating her 18-month-old stepdaughter. Columbia police say Tiffany Jeffcoat, 23, called authorities early Monday morning after she says she woke up to check on 18 month old Akidrea Jeffcoat. Jeffcoat says the baby wasn't breathing at that time.Emergency services responded and tried to resuscitate the little girl, but were unsuccessful.The baby was pronounced dead at Palmetto Baptist Hospital and Jeffcoat has been charged with homicide by child abuse.Coroner Watts says the baby also had signs of blunt trauma.Jeffcoat remains in jail at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
