SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — The Sumter County Sheriff's Office has launched a murder investigation after deputies responding to a call of shots fired discovered a dead body.
The call came in shortly after 10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27. Deputies dispatched to the area near the intersection of Seminole Road and Cone Street in the Lakewood neighborhood began searching the area and found the body of a male victim.
Deputies immediately began a murder investigation by interviewing possible witnesses and gathering evidence from the scene.
