Third teenager arrested in shooting death at Florence mall on Sunday, Feb. 18

Florence Police have now arrested all of the three suspects that shot and killed a man Sunday at Magnolia Mall

FLORENCE, S.C. — There is another update on the shooting incident that happened Sunday afternoon, February 18, at Magnolia Mall in Florence.

The Florence Police Department announced early Friday morning that they have arrested the third suspect involved in the shooting. 18-year-old Damarcus Legette, of Marion, was charged with armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and murder.

On Monday, Feb. 19, Florence Police had taken into custody 18-year-old Javon Norman and an unnamed 15-year-old male juvenile and charged them with murder, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and criminal conspiracy.

On Sunday, police answered a call of shots fired in the parking lot at Magnolia Mall, 2701 David H Mcleod Blvd. in Florence. Arriving at the scene, officers were able to locate the victim who had suffered a gunshot wound. The victim was transferred to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.

Investigators at Florence Police Department and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) were able to identify and locate a suspect vehicle through surveillance video and tips supplied to law enforcement. The early model gold Ford Escape was located in Marion, SC, on Monday, leading to the arrests of Norman and the juvenile.
