Amir Jennings' Mother Released from Prison

Probation officials say 27-year-old Zinah Jennings was released in September and will remain under state supervision for about five more months.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A mother sent to prison after authorities could not find her 18-month-old son has been released after serving less than half of her 10-year sentence.

Probation officials say 27-year-old Zinah Jennings was released in September and will remain under state supervision for about five more months.

Jennings was convicted of unlawful conduct toward a child in 2012 after her son disappeared. Amir Jennings' blood was found on blankets in her car, and authorities think he is dead, even though his body has never been found.

Zinah Jennings said throughout her trial that she left her son with someone and he was safe.
